McLean, Virginia
March 21--27, 2001

It will be four years in March since twenty four members of the Chiba Youth Orchestra visited the McLean Youth Orchestra and two years since our Youth Orchestra members enjoyed the hospitality and friendship offered by the Chiba Youth Orchestra in Japan, thus completing the first full cycle. The exchange has been such a resounding success that all parties want it to continue, so arrangements have been made for the McLean Youth Orchestra to host the Chiba Youth Orchestra again in March 2001.

About 20 members of the CYO, their director, Mr. Nagano, and Mr. Ogawa, one of the originators of the MYO-CYO exchange, will visit us from March 21 to 29, sightseeing, living with American families and visiting area high schools. The featured joint concert will be held on March 25 at Langley High School.

The Manjiro Society for International Exchange and The McLean Orchestra are jointly sponsoring and coordinating this extraordinary visit. Interested persons should contact the Executive Director of the Manjiro Society or The McLean Orchestra for more information.

Homestay Information

The visiting Japanese musicians will stay in the homes of members of the McLean Youth Orchestra the nights of March 22 through 25.
